The Last Post of the Year

I figured I should have at least one post before the end of the year, so here it is:

A lot of people do New Year's Resolutions. Something they resolve to do in the next year before the year is up. Its a nice idea, if we weren't all human. It bothers me that at the beginning of the year everyone wants to lose weight, make more friends, treat their families better. And you know they have been thinking about this for a couple months at least. So Im thinking, why do we have to wait for a new year to do these things. If you notice you need to change something in your life you should do it right away. um...... DUH. And it is also so sad that by Feburary everyone has completly forgotten what their resolution even was! It must be really funny to work at a gym. Every year you get a bunch of really fat people in your door in january and you might see them one more time and then... never again. It just goes to show that humans are habitual creatures and they will always return to what they did everyday, what is comfortable to them. Its sad, its true.

Well, Happy New Year! And I sincerly hope your New Year's Resolutions work out for you!!!

Escapades at the International House of Pancakes

The last few posts have been serious, deep-thinking posts, but I would like you to realize that I am not always that serious. I am actually a very funny person and this story should prove that to you:

Awhile ago, my friend, Emma, and I went to have a late lunch at an IHOP near school. We walked in and there were only a few customers. Our server, a college aged guy, sat us down at a booth and he began flirting with us. (Emma is just one of those girls guys flirt with.) And so we were joking around and ordered our drinks and then it came time to order our food. I don't remember what I ordered, but he asked me how I wanted my eggs and I said "Deviled." He began laughing and Emma and I just looked at him like we were serious and that we really wanted deviled eggs. Then he started to realize that we were being serious and he stammers, "W-w-we don't d-do that here..." Emma and I stood up and said "Well, we will just take our business elsewhere." And he started to take our menues! Emma and I quickly grabbed the menues and said, "We are taking our menues with us!!!" By that time he realized we were just joking and we all laughed. Then he told me "Deviled eggs... thats a good one."

HAHAHAHA!!! Funniest story ever.

Miracles

Have you ever seen Joan of Arcadia? It was a TV show about this girl named Joan to whom God appears to in many different forms. In the pilot episode there is a conversation between Joan and a good-looking teenage guy, who just happens to be God. Joan tells him, "Ok. Lets say your God, lets see a miracle." The guy, God, stops and refers to a tree. Joan pauses for a second and says "... thats a tree" and the guy looks back at her with a smile and says, "Let's see you make one."

This has stood out to me from the first time I saw it. I actually pauses the DVD and rewound to see it again (I had bought the first season to watch it). It amazes me how mankind thinks that we are above God and we can just demand a miracle. I think what "God" was trying to get at by showing Joan the tree, was that we encounter God's miracles everyday of our life, he hasn't stopped making miracles we've just stopped looking for them. Also, the biggest miracle he has ever created has been over-looked. It's time for mankind to open our eyes. Let's see a miracle.

The Anti-Environmental Club

So there is this Environmental Club at my school. They just recently had a bake sale to get money to adopt an arctic fox (a very very cute animal I must say) and you know, its great to save animals and protect our environment and all, but I'm more interested in saving human beings.

God gave man dominion over the earth so that we could gaurd it and cultivate it. We should take care of what God has trusted us with but I think a human being is far more important to God than an arctic fox, as cute as it may be. God made the world, but it wasn't complete without man and woman. Believe it or not the world would still be complete if some fox died.

All I'm saying is, God cares more about losing one of his children than he does about losing any animal. I think our time and money would be better spent saving a lost and starving child.

Faceless

The crown of identity
The peak of character
What's hoped, What's lost

Rebuked to stand true-faced,
Conformed to the greater countenance,
Said now, "What you are is in your heart,"
So not to wear it on your face.

Twisted, Mangled, Made to form,
Beauty, Innocence, and Joy.

Masks shrinking, choking,
Distorting whats below.

Transformed into potential,
Changed to expectations,
No longer what was good,
Morphed to what was "better".

Scratching, Tearing, Ripped to shreds,
Ignorance, Apathy, and Lies.

Better to be faceless,
Than masked behind faith.

The Reason Why

I screw up a lot. I don't know why. I think its because my mind is so scattered I can't sort anything out in my head. This is my attempt to sort whats in my head and put it in writing. For you, the reader, this blog is to understand me and maybe get to know who I really am. I'm hoping that this is a safe place to be who I am. Frankly, if you don't like who I am after reading this, that isn't really my fault.
